Sports weekend held for Rotary exchange students January 2013

Rotary exchange students visited Melfort for a sports weekend from January 18, 2013 to January 20, 2013.

A total of 19 exchange students took part in the weekend with events taking place on Friday, January 18, Saturday, January 19 and Sunday, January 20.
“I really enjoyed the snowboarding and I really like the curling. We don’t get that much snow so it was pretty exciting when we had the first blizzard and the first snow,” said Frederike Lieske, an exchange student from Parchim, Germany, who is currently living in Weyburn.
She has been in Canada since August and the exchange is for a school year.
Lieske said doing an exchange is definitely an experience she would suggest for other people.
“It’s the greatest thing that ever happened to me,” she said.
